What is Lent?
Lent is a season of repentance, reflecting on our sins and focusing on the forgiveness and life Jesus gives us through his suffering and death in our place.
During Lent we have special midweek worship to prepare our hearts for Good Friday and Easter with Jesus' undeserved, sacrificial love for us.
When is Lent?
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts 40 days (not counting Sundays). Lent leads up to and ends on Good Friday,
the day of Jesus' death.
This year, Ash Wednesday is February 18.
Midweek Lenten worship is on Wednesdays at 7:00pm from February 18 through March 25.
What Can I Expect?
Midweek worship is a calm, contemplative time of prayer, song, and the Passion Reading (Bible account of Jesus’
suffering and death).
Midweek worship lasts about 45 minutes.
This year we also ponder the Apostles’ Creed, and explore prophecies from Zechariah.
Soup Supper
Before midweek Lenten worship each week, we have a light soup supper.
Join us each Wednesday at 6:00pm in the lower level for a light meal before worship.
